La Union Surfing 2014

As a quick Christmas getaway, we decided to travel up to La Union in Pangasinan to detoxify ourselves and get ready for the new year with some sand, sea and wave therapy. This ideal surf spot with a 102km coast is the closest to Manila, being only a couple hours drive from the capital. It also boasts many resorts and hotels offering surf lessons, board rentals and other water-sport activities. I highly recommend the Kahuna Beach Resort as it is beach side, has distinctive dishes and a pool for those not yet ready for the big blue.

Hundred Islands - Pangasinan

This cluster of 123 extraordinary islands are located in the Lingayan gulf. The corals, calm waters and mysterious caves please all five senses, capturing your venturous side. The islands offer ziplines, water activities such as kayaking and snorkelling, jumping off cliffs and picture-perfect panoramic views. Because of it's lush coral and mangrove trees, the islands provide a great habitat for marine and bird life. One of the well-known creatures is the giant clam, or locally known as the Taklobos.

Bohol In A Day

As a little weekend getaway, my family and I visited Bohol. A land containing palm-sized primates and 1,268 hills that look like perfect mounds of chocolate. We started the day with a trip to the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary, witnessing the world's smallest primate in it's natural habitat. Following this, we took a drive through the man made forest on our way to the infamous Chocolate hills, where we sky biked from one hill to another. The views were absolutely spectacular and I hope to be back soon.
